Jay Pharoah opens up about his 'SNL' exit: 'You go where you're appreciated'

Former Saturday Night Live star Jay Pharoah hasn't said much about his unexpected exit from the show since he and Taran Killam were released from their contracts last August ... until now. 

The comedian opened up about being dropped from the NBC hit during an interview with Hot 97.

"You go where you’re appreciated," Pharoah explained. "If you have multiple people on the cast saying things like ‘You’re so talented, and you’re able, and they don’t use you and it’s unfair and it’s making us feel bad because they don’t use you and you’re a talent ...’”

Pharoah also expressed frustration with the direction of the show, noting, "They put people into boxes, and whatever they want you to do, they expect you to do."  Read more...
